Creating Fresh Tracks
I am inspired by the idea that sometimes to improve in work and life we just need help making small adjustments to improve performance in both work and life. A simple story of a beautiful winter day helps make my point. It was one of those special ski days with fresh powder snow that fell the night before and a morning of blue sky and sunshine. The day before there was no fresh snow, so we had skied groomed runs all day. If I try to ski in powder the same way I ski on groomed trails it can feel hard and frustrating. My legs will tire quickly and I will feel like a bad skier. But if I adjust my technique and strategy in the right ways, skiing in the fresh powder can feel amazing. That is how I want to help my clients. I want to guide them to make meaningful adjustments to how they lead that will make them and their teams and stakeholders feel that amazing progress. We aren’t bad leaders. Leaders want to do the best for those they serve. Sometimes we need someone to help us make those small adjustments to achieve great results.
